Rohatsu is considered the culmination of the year of practice in the Zen tradition. It is the celebration of the Buddhas awakening, which is none other than our very own awakening. During Rohatsu we dive deeply into this awakening. What is true? What is liberating? Are we living from this awake freedom?
Seeing what’s true requires great faith, great doubt, great energy and great love. So often we are pulled around by the winds of life, living in a state of confusion and stress. Rohatsu calls us to gather ourselves into the body of this present moment, turning towards the sirens of truth beckoning from within, and all around, and to discover the awakening of the Buddha. Sit, be still, be silent, be interested, surrender, and love.
