February 2025 Zazenkai

Saturday, February 1 8:00am - 4:00 pm | Please fill out this form and click Submit.

Zazenkai (one day retreat) is an opportunity to take a time out from ordinary busyness to rest and refresh and deepen practice. We'll begin in person at 8 a.m. with a Golden Hour in the SJZC Zendo. Then, Zazenkai includes a bit more zazen, chanting, work practice, eating practice and sanzen.... until 4pm.

Practicing the Way helps us pay attention to anything and everything at the moment and appreciate it - your shoe, your neighbor, the birds on the handrail, the difficult boss, the sidewalk under your feet, the moon in the night sky, all so worthy of your notice and care. All elements of what is.

We look forward to sharing this day of concentrated practice with you!

With appreciation,
Mushin

"Zazenkai" means meeting for zazen.

Zazen is sitting in inseparability, aware of the identity of inside and outside, otherwise known as "just this." But we not only sit zazen on this day of concentrated practice. We also apply the same awareness to all our activities, such as chanting, working, and eating. Simple, open, refreshing. Register by Thursday, January 30!

Led by Mushin.
